NIC.LV kindly invites you to the 11th International Conference for ccTLD Registries and Registrars of CIS, Central and Eastern Europe, TLDCON 2018, that is going to take place on September 12-13, 2018, in Jurmala (Latvia) at the Baltic Beach Hotel & SPA. The conference is organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ with support of the National Registry of the .LV domain NIC.LV and ICANN.

The main topics for TLDCON 2018 are:

  • The security of the domain market - during the session on security, participants will consider all aspects of combating illegal content, determine the role registrars and registries play in this process and how this role will change over time. Cybersecurity and content experts will suggest how the situation will develop.

  • ccTLDs vs New gTLDs - has the domain market become too crowded? How do country code top level domains fare in one market with New gTLDs? What market difficulties have they encountered? How do they manage to find their unique market niche? The participants will exchange their positive and negative experiences.

  • New technological solutions in DNS - using blockchain technology in DNS is a brave idea. Experts from the the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ will explain how to use this technology in the registry, why hyper-localization of DNS is needed, and share other options in the development of domain name system technologies. Join this discussion to show your achievements to other participants.

  • The secondary market.

The conference program is still being worked out, and the TLDCON 2018 program committee invites domain market experts, registries and registrars, lawyers, marketing professionals and cybersecurity experts, to offer your presentations for the programby sending them to the TLDCON 2018 program committee - meeting@cctld.ru.
